DYNASTY DEEP DIVES

Bullish on Burton

Jermaine Burton after finding out he’ll catch passes from Joe Burrow // USA Today

  • WR Jermaine Burton could shine in Cincy once Tee Higgins is gone. Burton’s a true deep threat, finishing last season with a 20.2 average depth of target (3rd highest in college football) and zero drops, per Andrew Erickson of FantasyPros.

  • RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. (NYG) “is in play to be the backup to Devin Singletary and could even push for the lead by 2025,” per The Athletic’s Jake Ciely."

  • WR Jalen McMillan should make an immediate impact out of the slot for Tampa Bay (his 14 slot TDs are 1st among college WRs since 2022, per PFF). And if the team moves on from Chris Godwin within the next year or two, McMillan’s value could skyrocket.

  • RB Isaac Guerendo is buried on the 49ers depth chart for now, but Elijah Mitchell and Jordan Mason are UDFAs next year (and CMC isn’t getting any younger). Guerendo and DK Metcalf are the only prospects in the last 20 years who have weighed over 220 lbs AND ran a 4.33 or faster, per Adam Levitan.

  • WR Malik Washington fits the mold of the Miami Dolphins track team, as he’s a small but speedy slot receiver who led the nation with 110 receptions last season.

  • QB Spencer Rattler finds himself backing up Derek Carr in New Orleans, which speaks for itself...

RISERS

Worthy of Your Attention

Tyreek Hill 2.0? // CBSSports

📈 WR Xavier Worthy: Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid added the fastest player in NFL history. Ian Hartitz of FantasyLife thinks Worthy’s a perfect fit in KC, especially with their heavy use of pre-snap motion (to help the 165-pound WR avoid press coverage) and the potential absence of Rashee Rice.

📈 Rookie WR1s: Marvin Harrison Jr. (ARI), Malik Nabers (NYG), Xavier Legette (CAR), Keon Coleman (BUF), Ladd McConkey (LAC), and Ja’Lynn Polk (NE) all have an opportunity to lead their team in targets. Nabers, Legette, and Polk are likely to fall due to question marks at QB, but volume is king in fantasy football, and their path to volume is wide open.

📈 Starting RBs: “Players like Gus Edwards, Devin Singletary, Zack Moss, Nick Chubb, and Zamir White are all still sitting there on top of their respective depth charts. The second day looked like the one that was going to wipe out some of their values but the only veteran runners who are really going to be challenged as a result of the day two picks are James Conner and Kyren Williams,” - Ken Kelly of Dynasty League Football.

📈 RB D’Andre Swift: Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze join an already loaded skill position group including Keenan Allen, D.J. Moore, and D’Andre Swift.

But the biggest winner? Swift, as Sigmund Bloom of FootballGuys notes, “Swift won't see many stacked boxes and will have plenty of chances to make the Bears look smart for signing him and fantasy players look smart for drafting him.” Major TD upside on the horizon.

  • RB Jonathon Brooks might fall down some fantasy draft boards due to his ACL tear in November, but The Athletic’s Jake Ciely sees him as a lottery pick given the risk as he could have a late-season surge.

  • QB J.J. McCarthy couldn’t have landed in a better spot than Minnesota. With targets like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson (when healthy), he’s primed for instant success.

  • WR Roman Wilson looks to be the Diontae Johnson replacement in Pittsburgh. While we will never advocate for an Arthur Smith offense, Wilson should get plenty of looks as the team’s WR2.

FALLERS

Bad News Brock

Brock Bowers seeing Gardner Minshew in the huddle // George Walker IV, AP

📉 TE Brock Bowers: “Bowers did not, in fact, land with Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers or any other good-to-great quarterback. Instead, he's headed to Vegas, where he's stuck in the Gardner Minshew/Aidan O'Connell theater of pain, fighting for scraps behind Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers.” - Yahoo’s Andy Behrens

📉 RB Kyren Williams: With the drafting of Blake Corum, Kyren’s bellcow status is in jeopardy: Corum is heavier, faster, quicker, and stronger than Williams and the Rams invested meaningful draft capital in him, plus they have overlapping skillsets, per Dave Kluge of FootballGuys. Similarly, James Conner should face some competition with the Cardinals grabbing talented RB Trey Benson in the 3rd round.

📉 WR Adonai Mitchell: “In an offense heralded by a mobile quarterback, Mitchell is facing an uphill battle for targets. Michael Pittman Jr. is the target alpha. And last year’s second-round pick, Josh Downs, projects for No. 2 in the target pecking order.” - Andrew Erickson of FantasyPros

📉 QB Michael Penix is stuck behind a proven QB that just signed a four-year $180 million deal. He could be 28 by the time he gets a chance to be Atlanta’s starter.

  • The Dolphins RB Room added speedster Jaylen Wright — yet another weapon for Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane to compete with. They could all have peak weeks, but consistency is unlikely.

  • QB Justin Herbert truthers were hoping for Malik Nabers at 5, but they instead took WR Ladd McConkey in the 2nd round, who should become the WR1 in LA. He’s an elite route runner.

  • QB Drake Maye is thin on weapons in New England, and likely could start the season behind veteran Jacoby Brissett. But at least he has his brothers by his side…
