INJURIES

Who’s Out?

Who invited Kenny Golladay? // NFL on X

C.J. Stroud (concussion) will miss another week because of the concussion he suffered in Week 14. As Puka Nacua continues his push for Offensive Rookie of the Year, Stroud’s absence opens a (very small) window of opportunity.

  • JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle) will not play in Week 16 against the Broncos. This makes Demario Douglas a strong streamer as the full-time slot option in New England.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) will not play in Week 16 against the Broncos.

  • Will Levis (ankle) is likely out. The Titans are eliminated from playoff contention, and have no reason to risk Levis here. Ryan Tannehill is only in play for 2-QB/SuperFlex leagues.

  • Michael Pittman (shoulder, concussion) is OUT.

Who’s In? Josh J?

Jacobs // Abbie Parr, AP Photo

Josh Jacobs (quad) was upgraded to a limited participant in Friday’s practice. Interim head coach Antonio Pierce told reporters he expects Jacobs to return this week and a limited practice makes that increasingly likely, per Rotoworld.

Jonathan Taylor was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 16 against the Falcons. Fire him up. Zack Moss (forearm) is questionable and didn’t practice this week.

Geno Smith (groin) was removed from the Week 16 injury report and will play against the Titans.

  • Kenneth Walker (questionable, shoulder) is expected to play in Week 16.

  • Tyreek Hill (ankle) is questionable but expected to play against the Cowboys after two limited practices this week.

  • Nico Collins (calf) is questionable for Week 16 against the Browns but looks likely to suit up after he was limited in practice throughout the week. Facing a tough Browns defense with Case Keenum at QB, Collins is a risky start. Or maybe not, read on…

Monitor T-Law

Trevor Lawrence, Florida Man // NFL Memes

Trevor Lawrence (concussion) cleared concussion protocol and is likely to play in Week 16 against the Bucs. If he can’t go, C.J. Beathard will get the start, making Evan Engram and Calvin Ridley probably worth sitting.

Cowboys LT Tyron Smith is doubtful and RG Zack Martin is questionable, meaning Dak Prescott could be without multiple starting linemen in a potential shootout against the Dolphins. He’s still a QB1.

  • DeVonta Smith (knee) did not practice Thursday or Friday and is in danger of missing Monday’s game. If you have better alternatives in the earlier window, I’d roll with them.

  • Hunter Henry (knee) is questionable for Week 16 against the Broncos. Two limited practices to close the week means he has a shot at playing in Week 16

  • Alexander Mattison (ankle) is questionable for Week 16 against the Lions, making Ty Chandler a borderline must-start.

HOLIDAY SPECIAL

Christmas Moments & Wishes

The NFL put together the Top-12 Christmas day highlights, the DeAndre Hopkins catch is insane. Trigger warning for anyone subject to Alvin Kamara’s 6 touchdown day in 2020.

BEST CONTENT

Fire Up Hopkins

📖 Week 16 Start/Sits by Graham Barfield of Fantasy Points.

Start DeAndre Hopkins. “In five full starts with Tannehill, Hopkins saw a whopping 36.5% of the first read targets and 43% of the Titans air yards. That’s right in line with where his role has been with Levis under center (33.7% of first read targets | 46% of the air yards). Nuk is this entire passing offense.”

📖 Week 16 Start Sit Decisions by Kyle Dvorchak of NBC Sports.

Start Packers TE Tucker Kraft, who “isn’t inside the top-12 tight ends for Week 16, but he is the best streaming option available. He has run a route on 86 percent of Jordan Love’s dropbacks since entering the starting lineup and has at least four catches or a touchdown in all four starts.”

📖 Week 16 Coverage Shells by Nick Spanola of Fantasy Points.

Start Nico Collins, who owns a 3.85 YPRR vs man coverage and faces the Browns this weekend.

  • Collins ranks 4th out of 98 qualifying WRs this season

  • Browns deploy man coverage at the 4th-highest rate among defenses (38%)

📖 Morning Huddle’s Start/Sits from earlier this week.

Sit Terry McLaurin. “It will be hard to move McLaurin to your bench, but the strongest wills always prevail. The Jets are a great pass defense; prior to Jaylen Waddle, they'd allowed just three non-PPR points to opposing WRs over the two weeks prior,” per John Hoefling of USA Today.

📖 The Regression Files by Denny Carter of NBC Sports.

Start Kyle Pitts, who “is second among tight ends in air yards, third in yards per reception, ninth in targets, and 12th in pass routes. Pitts, in Heinicke’s Week 9 start against the Vikings, caught four of five targets for 56 yards. Heinicke targeted Atlanta tight ends on 29 percent of his attempts.”

📖 Biggest OL vs. DL Mismatches ($) by Brandon Thorn of Establish the Run.

Brandon Thorn, Establish the Run

How to select a D/ST. “The real fantasy points come from sacks, forced fumbles, interceptions, and defensive touchdowns. These events are by far most likely to happen when a quarterback is under pressure. With that in mind, Thorn highlights the biggest mismatches between defensive and offensive lines for Week 16 to project QB pressure through film study, injuries, scheme, coaching, and talent.”
